Happy Wheels has arrived just as the tragic and blasphemous end of Flash is imminent. That was a tense moment. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Hopefully, the anxiety over losing Happy Wheels didn’t prevent you from enjoying a good night’s sleep. If you weren’t aware that this game was in development, here’s some exciting news: this marks the first official public release. Please bear with us as we work to fix any remaining bugs.
Although I still prefer the Flash version, what I particularly like about this new release is its excellent performance on mobile devices. Currently, however, there are no on-screen controls integrated for mobile gameplay—this feature will be added in the upcoming update. Thank you for your patience.
If you’re eager to try the game on your phone right now, a Bluetooth keyboard works very well as a temporary control scheme. While I initially stated the game would run at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels may run a bit slower at that framerate. Fortunately, there is a setting to adjust this, and I may host a dedicated 60Hz version on a separate page for users with powerful CPUs.
The rest of Happy Wheels JS remains true to the original in both design and gameplay. The user database, level library, and replay system have not changed since the initial release. The only thing lost is the looming threat of the universe’s end.
